| Painter, Hugh K. - Officer, 28 years old, 6 months of service from October 2, 1923 to March 30, 1924. Officer Painter was in pursuit of a speeding vehicle on Washington Boulevard during the evening hours when the culprit slammed on the brakes and turned off the lights. Painter, traveling at a speed of 60 miles per hour, crashed into the rear of the automobile with his motorcycle. He died of pneumonia. |
