| Lochner, William C. - Officer, 21 years old, 8 months of service from August 6, 1922 to April 20, 1923. It is believed Officer Lochner was chasing speeders in Havre de Grace and they forced him off the road to escape. Officer Lochner's motorcycle crashed into a fence and tore it down more than 50 feet. The motorcycle came to a stop after striking a telegraph pole. Officer Lochner was thrown against the pole and was found by a passing motorist. The motorist found Officers Ensor and Currie and told them of the accident. Officer Lochner was taken to Union Hospital in Elkton. He died two days later without regaining consciousness from a fractured skull and hip. |
