In Loving Memory of

Megan Looney

1978 ~ 1999

Megan may have been taken from us, but her memory

will go on in our hearts.

Megan Looney was a remarkable young lady who was full of life and love. She enjoyed helping her fellow man in many ways. At age 14, she became a Volunteer Fire Cadet. At age 18 she achieved the position of Firefighter and was still on the active roster. She graduated from Stephen Decatur High School in 1996 then went on to Salisbury State University. Megan was majoring in Criminal Justice as her career goal was to become a Police Officer. During her first 3 years, she worked as a dispatcher for the Ocean City Police / Fire Communications Center where she guided help to us and kept us calm with a steady voice that let us know things would be okay. This past year, Megan became a seasonal Police Officer with the Ocean City Police Department.

Megan died of cancer. The first tumor was discovered around the end of July, and was successfully removed at the John's Hopkins Medical facility. About 2 weeks after the operation, 2 new tumors were discovered and were deemed to be inoperable. She was surrounded with the love of family and friends when she passed on September 4, 1999.
